Revenue desk

Subscription revenue analytics, without the theatre

On this desk the phrase means a closed loop: contract → invoice → recognition → cohort → narrative. If any link is missing, the chart is decoration.

What we include

Subscription revenue analytics, as Logicauditline teaches it, is the discipline of measuring recurring revenue in a way that survives month-end. It covers MRR and ARR only after they have been reconciled to billed and recognised amounts. It covers logo churn and revenue churn as separate sentences. It covers expansion only when the performance obligation actually changed. It covers deferred revenue as a first-class object, not a plug.

It does not cover growth hacking, paid-acquisition creative, or the design of a billing engine. Those are neighbouring crafts. Mixing them into one “revenue course” is how teams leave with confidence and an un-auditable model.

Recognition before ratio

Ratios inherited from venture dashboards (magic number, payback, quick ratio) are optional. Recognition timing is not. We refuse to compute a ratio on a number that still disagrees with the sub-ledger.

Cohorts with an entry rule

A cohort that quietly includes trials, paused seats, or partner-billed logos will flatter retention. Every chart in class states who was allowed in month zero.

Expansion without double counting

Price increases, seat adds, and reactivations are dated against the contract, not against the CRM stage that made sales feel busy.

A written limitation

Every pack we admire ends with what the model cannot see. Silence reads as certainty. Certainty is rarely available in subscription books.

Where teams usually break the loop

The warehouse copies a billing export that still treats annual prepay as one month of MRR. Customer success books courtesy months as expansion. Finance books cash. The board sees a single tile. Subscription revenue analytics, done honestly, is the work of refusing that tile until the three stories can be told side by side.

If that is the work you need, start with the catalogue or write to the desk. If you only need a prettier tile, this studio will feel unnecessarily slow.
