Subscription Ledger Integrity

A twelve-week Recurring Desk cohort that rebuilds subscription revenue analytics from invoices, deferrals, and cohort entry rules. Informational fee: THB 46,200 per seat. No checkout on this site.

Team reviewing analytics during a product session

Who it is for

Controllers, FP&A leads, and founders who already own a billing export and still cannot explain why three MRR tiles disagree. Participants should be comfortable with spreadsheets. Engineering skill is welcome and unused; we do not configure Stripe, Chargebee, or a warehouse.

Learning outcomes

  • Map every invoice line to a recognition treatment you can defend at close.
  • Produce a deferred revenue roll-forward that an auditor can retrace.
  • State cohort entry rules in writing before drawing a retention curve.
  • Separate logo churn, revenue churn, and collection failure.
  • Deliver a limitation memo that names what the model cannot see.

Modules

  1. The three MRR problem

Billing tool, warehouse, and founder spreadsheet in the same room. Participants bring a redacted export or use our composite Bangkok publisher dataset.

  2. Invoice anatomy

Line types, credits, courtesy months, and mid-cycle amendments. Nothing is “just a discount” until it has a date.

  3. Cash versus booked

Why annual prepay flatters month one. Building a calendar that finance and sales can both read without pretending they agree.

  4. Deferred revenue roll-forward

Opening balance, additions, recognition, and write-offs. Visiting notes from Arthit on multi-element classroom licences.

  5. IFRS 15 studio

Performance obligations in platform-plus-module contracts common to ASEAN software vendors. A real limitation: we do not cover US ASC 606 differences in depth.

  6. Cohort entry rules

Who is allowed into month zero. Trials, pauses, and partner-billed seats either enter with a flag or stay out.

  7. Churn that is not one word

Logo, revenue, and seat shrinkage. Collection failure is not product failure and will not be charted as such.

  8. Expansion without double counting

Price lifts versus new logos versus reactivation. Dating against the contract, not the CRM stage.

  9. Board pack rewrite

One official MRR, a roll-forward appendix, and a limitation memo. Two instructor reviews of your workbook.

  10. Close week

Live walkthrough with a visiting controller. No certificate ceremony. You leave with papers, not a badge.

Informational fee

THB 46,200 per seat, invoiced after a desk call. Includes live sessions, cohort recordings for twelve months, two workbook reviews, and alumni board access for a year. Does not include travel, billing-vendor implementation, or an audit opinion. See the fee schedule and refund policy.

FAQ

Do I need to be a qualified accountant?

No. You need authority to look at invoices and patience with dates. Qualified accountants still find the cohort useful because the billing export is rarely as clean as the textbook.

Will you implement our billing tool?

No. This is a real limitation, not a humble-brag. Subscription Ledger Integrity does not teach you to configure Stripe, Chargebee, or a data warehouse. Participants who need engineering-level migration still need their product team. We will tell you which export fields are lying; we will not write the connector.

Is the cohort online or in Bangkok?

Live sessions are online, Bangkok afternoon time. An optional in-person close week gathering is offered when enough local seats exist; it is not required and not included in the fee if you travel.

Can my whole finance team join?

Yes, on separate seats. Five or more seats are quoted by email rather than at the public informational price, because review load is not linear.

Reviews of this syllabus

I came for a cleaner churn chart and spent the second week arguing with our billing export. Annoying. Also the first time our board pack stopped mixing booked MRR with cash collected in the same column.

Warisa Thongchai · FP&A lead

★★★★☆ 4.1

Week five on IFRS 15 is drier than the rest. I wanted to skip ahead to expansion. Nalinee would not. My deferred revenue roll-forward is the only appendix our auditor did not mark up.
